Bitgaram Innovation Center, operated by KEPCO (CEO Kim Jong-gap), signed a non-face-to-face online business agreement with KEPCO Energy Startup at the Energy Valley Enterprise Development Institute in Naju Innovation City on Thursday.
The KEPCO energy startup selected this time began a public offering in August this year for start-ups in the energy sector, and a total of 42 out of 128 companies were finally selected through document and presentation screening and on-site inspections.
The Bitgaram Innovation Center will provide up to 200 million won in funding for ▲ companies for two years, provide offices for ▲ Bitgaram Innovation Center, use of KEPCO's demonstration test center, use of patent technology and mentoring of each field.
In order to continue to grow into a strong exporter, KEPCO will continue to provide various support such as linking KEPCO's shared growth programs, investment institutions, and cooperation with start-up-related institutions, and will also use BIXPO export consultations, energy technology markets, and online export centers.
The Bitgaram Innovation Center was opened for the first time in the country on February 8, 2017, and has so far discovered and fostered 302 startups, achieved cumulative sales of 307.9 billion won, investment attraction of 55 billion won, and created 623 jobs.
SolarConnect Co., Ltd., a solar platform startup, created 42 billion won in annual sales, 30 billion won in investment attraction, and 77 jobs within three years of its foundation. In the case of Starcorp Co., Ltd., it started its business in earnest after completing a pilot operation of 220V outlet-type electric vehicle charging service with KEPCO in April and June, and Reevest Co., Ltd., which succeeded in developing flexible batteries, is also a representative startup fostered by Bitgaram Innovation Center.
KEPCO plans to support long-term research and time-consuming idea commercialization and industry linkage processes to foster promising startups that will lead green new deals and digital transformation, and create a sustainable ecosystem for startups to collaborate with existing companies in Energy Valley.
