10. [Green Post Korea] KEPCO Selects 42 Future Power Start-ups for New Energy Industries

[Green Post Korea reporter Kim Dong-soo] Korea Electric Power Corporation (hereinafter KEPCO) announced on the 10th that it has selected 42 promising startups that will lead the future of the new energy industry.

 

The Bitgaram Innovation Center, run by KEPCO, signed a non-face-to-face online business agreement with "KEPCO Energy Startup" at the Energy Valley Corporate Development Institute.

 

The energy startup selected this time has received a public offering since August for start-ups in the energy sector. The final 42 out of a total of 128 companies were selected through document and presentation screening and on-site due diligence.

 

The Bitgaram Innovation Center will provide △ up to 200 million won in funding for △ companies over two years, provide offices for Bitgaram Innovation Center, use of KEPCO's demonstration test center, △ use of patented technology and mentoring in each field.

 

Since then, KEPCO will provide various support such as linking KEPCO's shared growth program with investment institutions and collaboration with start-up-related institutions so that it can continue to grow into a strong exporter. It also plans to develop marketing and market channels by utilizing Bitgaram International Power Technology Expo (BIXPO) export consultation meeting, energy technology market, and online export product hall.

 

The Bitgaram Innovation Center was opened in 2017 for the first time in a public company and the 19th time in the country, and has discovered and fostered 302 startups so far. As a result, it achieved results such as 307.9 billion won in cumulative sales, 55 billion won in investment attraction, and 623 jobs.

 

 

KEPCO said, "We will support the process of commercializing ideas and linking industries that require long research and time to foster promising startups in the future that will lead green new deals and digital transformation."
