39. [Chum-Dan Net] ENITT Gets 'Innovative Product Certification' for AI Fiber Optic Acoustic Distribution Sensor Safety Monitoring System

ENITT (CEO Ki Song-do), a company specializing in safety management artificial intelligence (AI) solutions, announced on the 4th that the artificial intelligence (AI)-based optical fiber sound distribution sensor safety monitoring system (e-DAS) has obtained innovative product certification.

 

ENITT obtained the "5th Certificate of Designation of Excellent R&D Innovation Products" awarded by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy to companies that have successfully conducted research and development (R&D) under the innovative product designation system.

 

Innovative products are designed to support the initial entry of technological innovation products developed by SMEs with excellent industrial technology innovation into the market and revitalization of procurement links. The Ministry of Industry designates products that are recognized for technological innovation as "excellent R&D innovation products" among products that commercialized technology developed through industrial technology innovation projects.

 

Excellent R&D innovative products are subject to private contracts in "contracts with the state as a party," and private contracts can be made in public procurement purchases by the Public Procurement Service for three years after being designated as innovative products. Buyers of each institution can be protected through purchase immunity.

 

ENITT's e-DAS system was developed through the Korea Railroad Corporation's "Development of Fiber Sensor-Based Railway Track Safety Monitoring System." Using distributed optical sensors and edge computing technologies, it is possible to detect abnormalities and monitor real-time in major infrastructures such as railways and bridges in Korea.

 

In particular, it can continuously measure long-distance sections of more than 50km with one-strand optical fibers, and is not only easier to install than existing vibration and sound sensors, but also very competitive in price compared to competitors. Although there have been cases of obtaining innovative product certification only for distributed optical fiber sensor parts, ENITT is drawing more attention as it is the first company in Korea to obtain innovative product certification as a finished product of AI-based optical fiber acoustic distribution sensor system.

 

ENITT plans to supply innovative prototypes to demand institutions through the budget of the Public Procurement Service for three years after completing registration of innovative market products starting this month. If the final test is successful, it will also be eligible to apply for the registration of excellent procurement products.

 

In recognition of its excellence in the e-DAS system, the company has already received an order from POSCO (POSCO) to develop an unmanned conveyor belt inspection system in May and is undergoing delivery procedures. In the future, the project is expanding to various major infrastructure facilities such as defense, road transportation, plants, civil engineering, construction, and energy. It has also obtained certification as a company specializing in materials, parts, and equipment, and has been granted qualification to participate in government small businesses and public procurement cooperation companies for the next five years.
