BEMS Supply with OpenADR Standard VEN Interface

[Industry News reporter Jeong Jeong Gyo] Artificial intelligence (AI). AI, which has emerged as one of the major concerns of the global community since AlphaGo's appearance, has caused numerous changes in our lives. AI, which continues to develop through machine learning, is being reborn as a being that leads the impossible to become possible. Technologies that seemed impossible until now are gradually realized, and they are playing a role of helper that opens the door to new opportunities for countless people.

ENITT is an ICT company that manages 'safety' and 'energy' using such AI. Established in 2018, ENITT has grown more than eight times in the sales sector in just three years, drawing attention as an excellent venture company that will lead the fourth industrial revolution.

ENITT Ki Song-do, CEO of ENITT, said, "ENITT is providing innovative solutions to disaster safety management and energy efficiency businesses based on AI. Such ENITT's growth has differentiated AI with data collection and experience."

Recently, it has also made remarkable achievements that prove ENITT's technology. It was selected as 1,000 national representatives of innovative companies, high-tech companies, Inno Biz certification, and small and medium-sized companies selected by the Ministry of Employment and Labor. It is a very surprising achievement that is difficult to record for start-up companies that are only four years old.

CEO Ki said, "It is an achievement that all employees have made up of one mind and one mind," adding, "ENITT, which is focusing on technology development by consisting of 70% of its employees, is working together to be listed on KOSDAQ in 2025 through continuous technology advancement and new business creation."

ENITT supports energy efficiency through AI. From solar power plants to buildings, various activities are continued in the fields where energy is generated or used. In the early days of its establishment, it was the 'intelligent distribution board' that led to ENITT's growth.

It is a distribution board that can be simultaneously connected to a power system and a renewable energy source, enabling automatic power supply control for each consumer. It is a product that has various advantages such as daily/week/month power consumption control, schedule control, and pattern control by generation by built-in electronic switchgear.

CEO Ki said, "We can use the demand prediction program by measuring the actual amount of power generated from our deep learning-based demand prediction using an intelligent distribution board. As a result of comparing the measured amount of power every 15 minutes for 5 hours, we achieved MAPE 1.29.

In addition, ENITT is also supplying ESS monitoring solutions using ultra-small wireless sensors. TSware BESS EMS, which collects measurement and environmental information of ESS systems, is an integrated monitoring platform of ESS safety management systems. Detect thermal runaway of ESS with minimal facility. With Bluetooth 5.0 communication, it can use up to 120 m distance at a maximum speed of 2.0 Mbps. It provides a data processing function using a rule chain and prevents fire through an emergency control panel.

ENITT, which has driven the company's growth with various power devices such as gateways, distribution boards, and wireless sensors, also supplied software solutions that make hardware solutions stand out more, increasing the success rate of efficient energy management. This provides differentiated services in maintenance system installation. It also shows competitiveness in terms of deployment costs.

In addition, it is equipped with OpenADR standard VEN Interface functionality by utilizing 'OpenADR' standards-based interlocking gateways that are not used in typical BEMS systems and RTU units for controlling existing legacy systems. This allows users to participate in the DR market.

ENITT improved prediction accuracy through the implementation of Time Series Model learning algorithms to research and develop long-term energy demand prediction models in its deep learning-based demand forecasting, and applied LSTM algorithms to supplement problems with RNN (Recurrent Neural Networks) learning techniques.

CEO Ki said, "We have experience in managing 1,500 solar power plants nationwide based on differentiated energy efficiency solutions," adding, "We are continuously developing technologies to manage energy sources used in various fields in line with the spread of new and renewable energy."

Recently, ENITT supports efficient energy management of buildings through such energy efficiency solutions. TSware BEMS, a building energy management solution optimized for energy saving and efficiency improvement with differentiated ICT technology, is a web-based building energy monitoring program that monitors active and renewable energy-related data (electric, gas, water, solar, power, etc.) stored in DB. Because it is easy to be compatible with existing systems, it can be expanded to various facilities, and it supports predicting energy consumption and preparing in advance with differentiated prediction technology. It also proved its superiority in quality by acquiring first grade of GS certification.

On top of that, updating the facility operation profile using Cloud will monitor the energy usage of the entire building, enabling more efficient work than the existing workers to tour and update themselves.

CEO Ki said, "It is a product that provides BEMS functions of Class 3 or higher presented by the Korea Energy Corporation in compliance with the 'KSF 1800-2' standard according to the government's energy policy. It is a solution that manages energy management of buildings more efficiently based on differentiated AI."

Expanding applications by upgrading AI

Although ENITT has been active in the field of energy efficiency using AI, disaster safety management solutions are drawing attention recently. ENITT's railway track safety monitoring system "DAS (Distributed Acoustic Sensing, AI-based Optical Fiber Acoustic Sensing," which prevents continuous railway safety accidents every year, is based on optical fiber sensors and monitors sections up to 50km using optical fiber cables installed on the tracks. The distributed sensor (DAS) measures the change in scattered light generated by the vibration around the optical cable buried in the ground and analyzes the location and frequency of the vibration.

The optical sensor system, jointly developed by the Korea Optical Institute's Optical Precision Measurement Research Center and ENITT, can accurately collect abnormal signals that change due to ambient vibration by installing optical fibers on the boundary network in real time.

After making the abnormal signal information into a three-dimensional (D) distribution diagram, a deep learning method learning algorithm may be applied to obtain an intrusion and a location. In addition to identifying the intruder, it is possible to determine the direction, speed, and scale of the intrusion, and alert monitoring is possible even in a wide range of tens of kilometers or more.

This product, which is applied with AI-based data analysis technology, can prevent safety accidents in advance by classifying locations and events where train operation information, intruders, repair works, falling rocks, and optical cable damage occurred and delivering them to managers.

CEO Ki said, "We are promoting the development and commercialization of AI-based disaster safety solutions such as DTS (distributed temperature detection system) and FOAE (optical fiber sound emission sensor) in addition to DAS."

In particular, the railroad track safety monitoring system "DAS" has the advantage of not only reducing installation costs but also eliminating blind spots for railway safety by allowing continuous measurement.

CEO Ki said, "Our products can save about half of the construction cost compared to the existing foreign products," and explained the advantages of our products, saying, "We can respond immediately compared to foreign products that we have to wait for related experts to visit overseas even during maintenance."

ENITT, which is increasing its differentiation with its technology through AI, plans to continue its steady growth by introducing new technologies and challenging them. Despite its relatively short career, it was recognized for its potential and innovation capabilities to win the Minister of SMEs and Startups award at the 22nd ITS 2021 held in November last year. His ambition is to be active in global markets beyond South Korea.

CEO Ki said, "We will expand our e-DAS products to disaster safety management monitoring systems through abnormal detection and regular inspection of various industrial infrastructure and power facilities such as railways, bridges, underground tools, new renewable energy plants, transformers, and distribution boards."
